Eduardo Mosqueira Delivers a Quantum Machine Learning Course at CBCTQ 2026

The CITIC deputy director also participated in a panel discussion on the quantum technology workforce.

Eduardo Mosqueira Rey recently participated in the “Congreso Brasileiro de Ciencias e Tecnoloxías Cuánticas (CBCTQ 2026)”, where he delivered a course on Quantum Machine Learning and took part in a panel discussion on the quantum technology workforce.

During the course, the Deputy Director of CITIC at the University of A Coruña (UDC) introduced participants to the fundamentals and applications of quantum machine learning, a field that combines machine learning techniques with quantum computing.

The course covered fundamental quantum computing concepts, including superposition, interference, and entanglement, as well as classical data encoding techniques for quantum systems. Particular attention was given to variational quantum algorithms, which combine parameterized quantum circuits with classical optimizers and play an important role in developing applications for noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) devices. Participants were also introduced to quantum neural networks and hybrid quantum-classical models.

In addition to his teaching activities, Eduardo Mosqueira joined a panel discussion on workforce development, addressing the challenges of training professionals for the growing quantum technology sector.
